A user can publish a drink recipe using a title, a fixed ingredient list with amounts, directions and tags. An ingredient is automatically turned into a tag.

Users can search recipes through (popular) tags or free search. They can also comment on and rate recipes.

A user can define the things he has in his bar and the service gives the correponding recipes.

As the service only supports structure, it guess only 1 MicroContent web2.0 rating.

A service where a user can store an overview of his possesions, such as CD’s, books, board games, etc. A user can also publish his collection, so that it can be search by others. The service integrates with Amazon in order to populate various fields.

PageBites

Service that allows user to create and publish jo postings and resumes. The service also crawls the Internet for resumes and job openings.

A search service using tags. The service only searches tags,which are published on various service providers. The user can do a free search or use one of the pre-defined searches. The pre-defined searches show the zeitgeist, Interestingly each tag has also its own URL. So have a look at microcontent.gada.be.

A service for hosting and publishing video content. It is possible to search in some metadata of the video, such as the title and tags.

This search engine allows a free search into source code. The engine is programming language aware and will thus result in better results.

Trulia

This service offers a free search service into real estate items for sale. The results page include a map of the items found based on Google Maps. The results can also be read as RSS-feeds.

Wazima

This service is a new variant on bookmarks. The idea is that bookmarks stored in this service point to deals on the web. It should be like a directory of products and deals. The user can create and upload bookmarks and users can search bookmarks based on tags.

Rollyo

This service allows a user to create search rolls. A search roll is a set of websites created by a user, which can be searched. Users can also access search rolls of other users. It is a service which re-uses Yahoo! Search. Rollyo limites the search realm of a free search and allows users to define this realm. Unfortunately the realm is limited to the top-level of an URL.

You can think of this services as reusing the bookmarks you gathered in a folder around certain subject. Rollyo allows you to search the web-sites in your bookmark folder.

Tagalag

This service allows users to tag email-addresses. A user can also create an account with a profile and tag himself. This makes it a publishing service with an email address as communality. You can serach for other users, but can only add tags, when you know their email-address.

From a MicroContent point of view the format is simple: just an email address and tags. Although a registered user can extend his profile with other elements. It has a social dimension as othe rusers can publish new email-addresses and tag it.

Exalead

This service allows users to search web-pages in various form. It is a free format search services. The advanced search option had various possibilities for specifying metadata. MicroContent is not acknowledged.

TagFacts

This service allows user to create notes. Each note consists of a title, a description, a URL and tags. A user can create and publish these notes. Notes are published as web-pages on for example http://tagfacts.com/aleene/and as RSS.

The service alsso allows to search notes of other users and see which tags are used. Thus it is also a search search for their own realm.

Google BlogSearch

This service allows a user to perform a free search in the blogosphere. Results are presents as a title_link, date, first sentences and a blog-title-link. Results can be sorted on relevance or publication date. One can also subscribe to a query in RSS or Atom format. The search result also includes a related blog, which is dedicate to the query subject.

RawSugar

This service is basically a bookmarking service. It allows users to upload and create bookmarks. It seems that one can only create a bookmark through a button in the browser (which is a bit to limited).

There is however a strong emphasis on searching as well. Users can browse some predefined searches (top 10 people, searches) or do a free search on the entire database. A user can search through his own bookmarks based on tags (a few are suggested) or do a free search on his own bookmarks.

Jeteye

Jeteye is a combination between a search service and a bookmarking service.

The search service allows users to do a free search, which uses Google, but one can change to other search service providers. The search service also searches the Jetpaks created by users. Jetpaks are collections of links, images and notes. These Jetpaks are created by users of the bookmarking service. Search results are shown in reverse time-order. Each item shows the title, a summary and a link of the Item. A user can expand an Item to see the full web-page.

The primary service seems to be a bookmarking-service. A user can create collections called jetpaks. A jetpak can contain bookmarks, image urls and notes. One can assign a title and tags to a jetpak. The most interesting feature however is that it is very easy to add a search result to a jetpak: just clicking a button.
