Connoisseur 1.2.1

Connoisseur allows a user to manage recipes and shopping lists. The application is create by the Little AppFactory.

  • Online Library - This List shows recipes that (I gather) are taken from the Internet;

This Client gets 41 out of 90 points with checklist version 1.4.

  • MicroContent (6/10) - to what degree does the client support MicroContent Items?
    • Structure - YES, the primary type is the recipe. The structure is complex as it incorporates an ingredient list. Also the directions can be split into steps;
    • Multiplicity - NO, only recipes;
    • Flexibility - NO, there are no user defined fields;
    • MicroWeb - YES, mashed with images;
    • Pick-list fields - YES, several fields support this;
    • Merged - NO;
    • Title - YES, the title of the recipe;
    • Description - YES, there is a separate field for the description;
    • Tags - NO;
    • Rating - YES, a five point scale;
  • Interface (6/10) - does the client have the characteristic layout for managing Albums?
    • View-pane - NO, one has to view the recipe in a pop-up window. I do not count the image for the recipe in the lower left corner (in iTunes style) as a View-pane;
    • View-pane Styles - NO;
    • View-pane Window - YES, this is also the View 'pane'. And there is also a 'cooking view';
    • Items-pane - YES, a list with recipes;
    • Items-pane Views - NO, just a tabular view;
    • Items-pane Sorting - YES;
    • Items-pane Fields - YES;
    • Lists-pane - YES;
    • Browser-pane - YES, this works like a filter. It has columns for Cuisine, Course and Ingredient;

  • Item functions (5/10) - does the client contain the standard functions for managing Albums?
    • View - YES, by double clicking on th recipe in the Items-pane or by clicking on the icon in the toolbar;

    • Search - NO, the search in the toolbar seems to search in all fields simultaneously;
    • Access Control - NO;
    • Duplicate Control - NO, however when importing duplicate recipes are detected;
    • Delete - YES;
    • Persistence - NO;
    • Downloading - YES, one can copy a recipe form the Online Catalogue to the Recipe Catalogue. Downloaded recipes will be show with a marker in the Recipe Catalogue;
  • List functions (9/17) - does the client allow for creating lists of Albums? Yes, they are called Groups;

    • Remote Lists - YES, the Online Catalogue;
