Threads

I wonder what the role of threads would be with respect to Microcontent. I has a look at ThreadsML, but not much is happening there except Wiki spam. I am not sure that I am interested in a Threads Markup Language. To me a thread is the result of all the weblog-entries that direct to other weblog-entries. Threads as you see them in comments or discussion groups are not compatible with owning your own data. If you own your data each part of a thread will be published elsewhere. And links connect every part.

By the way this is not to say that ThreadML might not be useful. I can see its usefulness in some domains, but it is outside my scope.
