Michael Arrington agrees with the idea that one should be able to subscribe to blog rolls / reading lists. But he sees here a task for NewsAggregator service and/or clients.
But why not take a different approach: create a weblog with the feeds that you read, each item is a single feed. Publish this feedlog in HTML, RSS, Atom, OPML, whatever. Anyone interested in using the feedlog can use the feeds. That that includes yourself. Do want to try out a new NewsAggregator service, just point to your feedlog feed.
A user now only has to update his feedlog in a single place and all his NewsAggregators get informed automatically. It would be even better if any NewsAggregator could post to the feedlog. That would really make it data outside.
Do not make a feed secondary class. They are MicroContent as well and deserve a weblog.
Have a look at my RSS2.0 feed of the feeds that I read. Note that you must perform a autodiscovery on these homepages.
