Private or Public?

Joe Reger has an interesting post where he mentions the differences between his and Marc Canter's view. One of the differences is the private and public part. One can create MicroContent Items, which are only for personal private use (as is mainly done of Reger.com). And one can publish Items for anyone to see, which allows for viewing reviews made by others, sharing recipes, etc.

The next step is the combination of MicroContent Items. That is the creation of aggregated views, as Marc Canter seems to like. Or the creation of graphs that reger.com supports. And I like to see more complex relations between Items. For instance the creation of threads between blog items, similar to comments. And in the future a MicroWeb.
