An announcement that was picked up big, was the fact that Microsoft will use RSS deeply in Longhorn. And indeed that will be great for the adoption of MicroContent as well. I like especially the generalising idea. Enclosures will be used for exchanging any type of MicroContent. This supports my idea that MicroContent should also be single, i.e. not just aggregated in a web-page. Also that RSS will be added to various application is a great idea. As many applications are already MicroContent clients we will get much more support for MicroContent. Basically any client will become an aggregator. Also that RSS will be expanded to support sorted lists is good. Thus RSS is not only for episodic lists, but for any collection. So it is all great news.
