Live MicroContent

Thomas Vanderwal talks about Live Data. The problem with the current web is that it changes all the time. Web-pages get deleted, web-pages are edited, etc. Blog-items are added, Nothing is set into stone. That is all very nice, but sometimes you want to keep something, or you want to know that something has changed.

This is an interesting subject. It puts another axis on the web: time. And at the moment we have no infrastructure to help us here. You have to do everything yourself: create archives of web-pages that you want to keep, copy images just in case and visit that web-page every day to check the price. Bookmarking has limited value.

We need live feeds, i.e. modules on our web-pages that update regularly, RSS Items that are checked regularly. And markers to signal us that something has changed. For the archiving stuff we need something else.
