hReview support?

Paolo Massa drew my attention to the official announcement of hReview. This drew my attention:

.... jointly co-authored by representatives from America Online, CommerceNet Labs, Microsoft, Six Apart, Technorati, and Yahoo!....

It is nice that they have backing from these large companies. All the better for adoption. Note this is not a critique of their procedure, it is all very open and anyone can edit the Wiki. Maybe this quote is just for PR.

But I have some second thoughts. In defining new MicroContent types we should not be dependent these committees of large companies. As the blog liberated the journalist in everyone, we should also liberate the defining of new MicroContent types. Let the use decide how he structures his MiroContent and not the aggregators or whatever company.

Committee work should be relegated to a higher plane: the facilities for creating MicroContent types.
