Filecasting

Slate is starting with textcasting. The idea is that a RSS-feed is used to send text files as enclosures, which in turn are exported (synchronised?) with an iPod.

The focus seems to be on the iPod. It seems however that more and more file types are added as enclosures to RSS-feeds, so we better start to talk about FileCasting. And these files can be of any type (audio - podcasts, video - vidcasts, applications - appcasts, images - photocasts, etc.).

By the way, I start to dislike teh term enclosures. They are not really enclosures, but links to related files. And enclosures have nothing to do with MicroContent either. We better think of them as bookmarks. And these bookmarks might point to any kind of file.
