Feedflare allows people to add MicroContent Operations, such as Email this Item, Email the author, Technorati Item Info, Recent tags or add to delicious to each MicroContent Item. And it seems that people started using it quite heavily. I have two problems with it.
It only adds more noise to the RSS-feeds. The feeds only get bloaty. It takes up space and it offers something that I at least will hardly use. As a next step they will push my whole blog-page to the readers. I am in favor of keeping the feeds clean. If you want community, interaction, context, etc., then visit the corresponding web-page (a link is provided in the feed).
It is also an unnecessary addition. I use a decent MicroContent Client for reading my feeds (NetNewsWire) that already incorporates many of these functions. Feedflare does not add much interesting extra.
By the way I do think that there is a place for MicroContent Operations in order to create a web of MicroContent Items. But not in a feed.
