In ODE (dec 2005) an interview was published with Pim van Lommel. This heart surgeon analysed NDE’s within his patients. And he comes to very interesting conclusions. The most important point to note, is that these people were really dead, at least to medical standards. But nevertheless they do report from their death phase. This has implications for the storage of memory (outside the body). And there is still some sort of identity, which lies outside the body (as the body is dead, no heart beat, no blood flow, no electrical brain activity).
The next interesting thing is what they report: peace, space, love, freedeom. They see lost relatives, live reviews, people who greet them, they can see into the past and future, etc. And finally these people are transformed when they are back. They are no longer afraid of death and see their life in a different light.
A researcher into NDE’s. Website: Merkawah and IANDS.
Quantum physicist at UC Berkeley.
In a presentation for the Esalen Institute in May 2004, Gary Schwartz presents his ideas about a Systemic Momory Hypothesis. The idea is that the interactive behaviour of photons and electrons enable them to store information. All recurrent feedback-based relationships lead to a systemic level memory. The idea is that this solves the memory problem. This also implies that any electron has the memory of the image he was part of. A very important part of all this is the feedback loop, which allows to improve the stored information. This idea could also explain Homeopathy, which is a constant interaction between hydrogen and oxygen atoms.
In this presentation one sees in effect two parts: the phenomena, which indicate a memory in various places, and the physics, i.e. where is this memory stored. I find the latter part a bit insufficient. The Holoverse models seem better, but in the end we have to look at hardcore physics for the actual explanation. What information is stored and why is however a totally different subject.
In an interview with WIE, Rabbi Marc Gafni qotes the Zohar.
The Zohar states that we are God’s name—we’re God’s verbs, we’re God’s adjectives, we’re even God’s dangling modifiers, and in that way we become the voive of the messiah. .. The great privilege of being human is that we can participate in the evolution and healing of God.
This idea is similar, but much better formulated, to our idea of the Holoverse. Only man on earth is able to change to content of the Holoverse. So one could equate God with the Holoverse.
Marc Gafni is a rabbi and leader of Bayit Chadash, an international movement for integral Judaism. He holds the Chair of Judaism and Kabbalah at the Integral Institute.
Michael Grosso discussed the idea of Subtle Bodies. He mentions the data on that phenomenon. I wonder what he refers to. In any theory this has to get a place.
In a presentation at an Esalen Conference Adam Crabtree discusses the necessity for an Ascent/Descent model in order to explain survival.
Researches into Multiple Personality Disorders.
Does research into NDE and OBE.
