Working model

After reading all this articles it is inevitable that a working model has developed. We notice that we start talking about it in a certain way, which is our working model.  I will try to write it down as we think about it now.

We see things (and that is everything) as being composed of two parts: th universe and the holoverse (working title), The universe encompasses everything that we see, experience and think of as being normal. The holoverse is the real beyond, it is beyond our universe. The main inspiration for the holoverse comes from the book of Talbot, but we see it appearing in many other places as well,

The holoverse seems to be the Fourrier transform of our universe. That means that our four dimensional spacetime has been transformed to a, at least, four dimensional frequency representation,  I am thinking in terms of a Fourrier transform as I can understand that better, due to my background. Thinking in terms of holograms is much more difficult for me. And this holoverse is supposed to reside in the quantum zero pint field.

The holoverse contains the transformation of all things that have happened in our universe, all our actions, all our thoughts, all our interactions in the whole universe. That is a lot of information. As the holoverse is also a transform of the time dimension, also the past is encoded. And one can wonder about the future, I remember using Fourrier transforms for extrapolation purposes, think predictions.

As I talk about it, the universe and the holoverse are not separate. They are linked. This linkages are the actual transforms taking place. One transform creating new frequencies and the other creating new spacetime components. There is some evidence for both transforms.

Talbot gives some examples for the transform to the space-time domain, the universe. And I think that is the most intriguing transform annd the most difficult to comprehend or to believe. The transform to the frequency domain has more grounding in Talbot’s book.

The holoverse is very difficult to understand. Can you define any structures there? Does the sun have certain frequencies? Do humans have certain frequencies. I guess so theoretically. Just as we use the Fourrier transform to filter out unwanted noises, which we can recognize there. But what are interactions in that domain? Very difficult to grasp.

This model gives also an idea for our raison-d’etre, The frequency domain is basically a static thing. There is no time dimension and thus no change. One can only create a new transformation, i.e. add frequencies, change amplitues and/or phases. But these have to come from the universe. Thus only the universe can change the holoverse. And the holoverse might change the universe in order to provole these changes. There is some support for this idea in Talbot’s book.

The trouble with this model is that it is very rational. It lacks a purpose. We like to have a sense of good and evil. We can see that good and evil has no meaning in the holoverse: all frequencies are equal, And we can not act on bad frequencies. It has no meaning, It is mentioned that the main purpose of humanity is knowledge. This might be interpreted very broadly. Knowledge is not only thought, but also actions. Could there be bad and good knowledge? Does the universe need good knowledge more than better? I get the impression that it does value certain knowledge more. And this is what we define as good an bad, The whole purpose remains elusive however.

This might also explain reincarnation. As humans we come frm the holoverse to the universe in order to work on extending this knowledge. And we have to come back again and again. It takes a lot of actions before you have any significant impact in the whole holoverse. In order to change any frequency significantly, humanity has to change as a whole and in a certain direction. Only a common definition of good and evil can help us there.

And that is why I think that enlightenment must be seen in another sense. It is enlightenment about this direction of the universe, and our personal part in it, that we must gain. It has no purpose of escaping the wheel of reincations, because then you would no longer help the holoverse. I could however understand when you can no longer have any impact and stay in the holoverse.

This is an interesting working model and we will try to fill in the details, as we go along.

Maybe Angels

Interview of Rupert Sheldrake by Hal Blacker.

Sheldrake proclaims to be in search for the sense of life in nature. He wants to break free of the mechanistic approach. Determinism is something of the past. You should see everything in nature as an organism. Everything is alive. But what is the level of consciousness of various things? He also puts everything in relationships. There does not exist individuality. He also relates creativity with consciousness. Creativity is something unique.

He sees good and evil as an inevitable part of life. He does not agree with the idea that one has to escape earth and go to the timeless. He wonders whether the scientific method can really reveal the truth. It seems that science can reflect an infinite number of views. But he has a problem with the rationalism within science.

The First Step

In the interview with Peter Masefield the first step on the road to enlightenment is discussed. In the old Buddha scripture the guidance of the Buddha is mentioned as the only method to pass the First Step.

But that was then. Could that have been changed? The Dalai Lama surely does not mention it. The description of the First Step reminds me of the Near Death Experiences described in the Holographic Universe. It is a very intense eye-opener in which people see the truth of life and beyond, which changes a life for ever. And maybe there are more of such experiences, think of channeling, OBE’s, etc.

Cosmic waters

In The Roar of the Timeless Beyond reference is made to a Veic formulation of reality:

In the beginning there was no distinction between being and nonbeing. There were only the “cosmic waters” and at some point heat was born in the water in the form of Agni and a differentiation took place such that the created world came into being. The created world represented one-quarter, but there always remained this backdrop of the hidden three-quarters in which there were none of the distinctions found in the created world. These three-quarters retained the characteristics of the primeval state in which there was no-distinction.

Recently I heard a presentation of an astronomer on cosmology. He presented a model for cosmology where only one-quarter was in known matter (baryonic,..) and the other three-quarters was either dark matter or dark energy. And they do not know what this dark stuff is, but they require it in order to explain the universe. Interesting. Coincidence?

The Holographic Universe gives several examples of matter created out of conscience. So there is some reality to it. Maybe we should take this Vedic scripture, the Edda and the Bible literal on this. The universe was indeed created out of the holoverse.

Twin pain

Ervin Laszlo describes in Kosmische Visie (p39) that 30% of twins have a telepathic connection. This is espcially observable when one experiences a pain. The other one will experience it as well, even when he is far away and unknowing of the event.

Kosmische Visie - Wetenschap en het Akasha-veld

By Ervin Laszlo (2004) ISBN:9020283596, Publisher:Ankh-Hermes

Current science has left us with a pretty negative view on live. A new more positive all-encompassing theory is ncessary. Then main reason for a new theory is however unexplained phenomena on various levels. The first level is cosmology. There is a high degree coherence, which only can be explained by an information field. A similar field is already know through quantum physics. Also many biological processes require such a field in order to explain the speed of communication. And finally many consciousness phenomena, like ESP, can only be explained through an information field.

The roar of the timeless beyond

An interview with Peter Masefield by WIE 14 (1998)

Translations or the original Buddha scriptures in Pali reveal insight on the path to enlightenment. The first step on that path is much more difficult than was presumed. Taking this first step was done under the guidance of the Buddha. In this first step the Buddha helps to see and experience the four truths and “witnessing the fact of impermanence”. And only when one has experiences this one can start with the path to enlightenment. This is unlike hoe people start on that path nowadays, they start with step 3. And the rest of the path is also done under the guidance of the Buddha.

There is a distinction of three type of people: the puthujjana - people who follow the path, but do not have takes step 1, the ariyasavaka - people who took the first step, and the Buddha. And only the latter is able to recognize people ready for the first step and help them along. And when you are ready seems to depend on what you did in all your lives.

The required experience is a flash of experience of the supermundane, the deathless, the third noble truth. And experiencing this will have a profound impact on your whole being. One has received insight in the “way the world really is”. It is shattering of ignorance, lack of knowledge. There will be no doubt about the right view once seen. He makes reference to the Vedic formulation of reality: three-quarters is not seen. This 3/4 is the deathless.

Dalai Lama lessons

I like what has been said in this interview with the Dalai Lama. It reminds me of the Holographic Universe. Enlightenment means to me a full understanding of both the implicate and explicate order (universes) and there relation between them. That also implies that one understands the purpose of life on a personal level. And that one behaves accordingly.

If he discusses emptiness and no independent existence, I have the impression that he talks about the implicate order, where everything is connected. There is then no independent existence. Also the mention of emptiness seems to point to the implicate order, where everything is born and goes to.

No Independent Existence

Article in What Is Enlightenment? magazine by Amy Edelstein.

In this interview she interviews the Dalai Lama. This interview with the Dalai Lama offers some insights. One of the concepts is Enlightenment. He equates enlightenment to knowing. And the ultimate in knowing is Buddha-hood enlightenment, which is also called a fully awakened state. Negative emotions are a hindrance here and should be opposed with compassion. Just following the Buddhist way of life does not lead to enlightenment. One should aspire to enlightenment. One should understand the Four Noble Truths of Buddhism.

One of the key teachings of Buddhism is emptiness. The Dalai Lama defines emptiness as “the lack of true existence of the ‘object of negation’”, but also “the absence of independent existence”. His explanation of this is very abstract. He says that there is no independent existence, it is wrong, it is ignorance. However there non-independent existence and that is wisdom.

There is no beyond good and evil when one is enlightened. Both bad and good are equal. Everything is equal. Conventional reality does not play a role anymore.

In order to learn Buddhism one should learn dharma, the teachings and then one will find refuge in the Buddha. The Buddha is here however an abstract designation of a teacher. It is not necessary to have a human teacher, books might function as a teacher.

Eye-opener

The book Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot is really an eye-opener for me. I did not realise that there is so much evidence for a holographic universe. He connects the dots of a wide range of phenomena through this holographic universe. And there are even some elements that are missing from his exposé that can be easily added.

I notice that I use this Holographic Universe model as a reference for many things I read now. I guess that I will use this as my standard reference model for the moment and will add things to it as we go along. This book is really a must read.
