holoverse

The holoverse contains our space-time universe. The holoverse contains inormation of everything that happens in the universe. The holoverse is a hologram of the universe.

An interesting video with a bit of surprise ending. I like the beginning, makes one wonder.

Physical grounding

The Holoverse is likely an extremely important ingredient of our universe. One would expect that modern physics already encountered it somehow. With this in my head I went through the book The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene. In this book explains the latest insight of string physics and the even more encompassing brane physics. Unfortunately I did not find any evidence of a Holoverse in this book.

That is until I skimmed through the Notes. In note 2 to chapter 15 (p411) we read:

Susskind and ‘t Hooft have suggested that all of the physical happenings we encounter may actually be encoded fully through equations in a lower-dimendional world. .... Recently, work by the Harvard physicist Juan Maldacena, together with important subsequent work by Witten and of the Princeton physicists Steven Gubser, Igor Klebanov and Alexander Plyakov, has shown that, at least in certain cases, string theory embodies the holographic principle.

This is extremely encouraging. As string theory is extremely complex, it might take a while before we have the final word on it.

Evolution

It seems that creationism or intelligent design is gaining ground on evolution theory. Usually this was only an issue in the US, but it also seems to happen in other countries as well. But does creationism have any valid grounds.

When I look at the list of retorts as published by Scientific American I do not see any. The question is whether evolution theory has any big problems. I do not thinks so. If there are any problems they are in the details. And at that point Intelligent Design (ID) is invoked. And ID is only necessary to speed up evolution at certain stages. And at those point information can be obtained from the Holoverse in order to make a better evolutionary decision. But are there really those points?

An overview of objections against evolution:

Flat universe

In Kosmische Visie (p115) Ervin Laszlo describes the latest discoveries in the field of cosmology. We seem to live in a flat universe. His main problem with this is flatness, is that the initial conditions had to be accurate with 1 part in 10 to the 50. How can these have been so accurate? He dislikes the idea that this is due to chance and rejects models that support 10 to the 50 universes. He claims that information available prior to the birth of this universe could have lead to this accuracy.

Learning cosmology

In Kosmische Visie Ervin Laszlo describes a cosmological model in what he calls a poetic fashion. In that model he describes a a cosmos where a continuous birth/death of universes. But each cosmos learns from a previous one. And all this learning has led to the extermely finetuned universe that we have now.

What I miss in this is the direction of learning. How is known what is a good and bad solution? Somehow there must be a judging process in order to decide what is a good or bad universe.

Working model

After reading all this articles it is inevitable that a working model has developed. We notice that we start talking about it in a certain way, which is our working model.  I will try to write it down as we think about it now.

We see things (and that is everything) as being composed of two parts: th universe and the holoverse (working title), The universe encompasses everything that we see, experience and think of as being normal. The holoverse is the real beyond, it is beyond our universe. The main inspiration for the holoverse comes from the book of Talbot, but we see it appearing in many other places as well,

The holoverse seems to be the Fourrier transform of our universe. That means that our four dimensional spacetime has been transformed to a, at least, four dimensional frequency representation,  I am thinking in terms of a Fourrier transform as I can understand that better, due to my background. Thinking in terms of holograms is much more difficult for me. And this holoverse is supposed to reside in the quantum zero pint field.

The holoverse contains the transformation of all things that have happened in our universe, all our actions, all our thoughts, all our interactions in the whole universe. That is a lot of information. As the holoverse is also a transform of the time dimension, also the past is encoded. And one can wonder about the future, I remember using Fourrier transforms for extrapolation purposes, think predictions.

As I talk about it, the universe and the holoverse are not separate. They are linked. This linkages are the actual transforms taking place. One transform creating new frequencies and the other creating new spacetime components. There is some evidence for both transforms.

Talbot gives some examples for the transform to the space-time domain, the universe. And I think that is the most intriguing transform annd the most difficult to comprehend or to believe. The transform to the frequency domain has more grounding in Talbot’s book.

The holoverse is very difficult to understand. Can you define any structures there? Does the sun have certain frequencies? Do humans have certain frequencies. I guess so theoretically. Just as we use the Fourrier transform to filter out unwanted noises, which we can recognize there. But what are interactions in that domain? Very difficult to grasp.

This model gives also an idea for our raison-d’etre, The frequency domain is basically a static thing. There is no time dimension and thus no change. One can only create a new transformation, i.e. add frequencies, change amplitues and/or phases. But these have to come from the universe. Thus only the universe can change the holoverse. And the holoverse might change the universe in order to provole these changes. There is some support for this idea in Talbot’s book.

The trouble with this model is that it is very rational. It lacks a purpose. We like to have a sense of good and evil. We can see that good and evil has no meaning in the holoverse: all frequencies are equal, And we can not act on bad frequencies. It has no meaning, It is mentioned that the main purpose of humanity is knowledge. This might be interpreted very broadly. Knowledge is not only thought, but also actions. Could there be bad and good knowledge? Does the universe need good knowledge more than better? I get the impression that it does value certain knowledge more. And this is what we define as good an bad, The whole purpose remains elusive however.

This might also explain reincarnation. As humans we come frm the holoverse to the universe in order to work on extending this knowledge. And we have to come back again and again. It takes a lot of actions before you have any significant impact in the whole holoverse. In order to change any frequency significantly, humanity has to change as a whole and in a certain direction. Only a common definition of good and evil can help us there.

And that is why I think that enlightenment must be seen in another sense. It is enlightenment about this direction of the universe, and our personal part in it, that we must gain. It has no purpose of escaping the wheel of reincations, because then you would no longer help the holoverse. I could however understand when you can no longer have any impact and stay in the holoverse.

This is an interesting working model and we will try to fill in the details, as we go along.

Maybe Angels

Interview of Rupert Sheldrake by Hal Blacker.

Sheldrake proclaims to be in search for the sense of life in nature. He wants to break free of the mechanistic approach. Determinism is something of the past. You should see everything in nature as an organism. Everything is alive. But what is the level of consciousness of various things? He also puts everything in relationships. There does not exist individuality. He also relates creativity with consciousness. Creativity is something unique.

He sees good and evil as an inevitable part of life. He does not agree with the idea that one has to escape earth and go to the timeless. He wonders whether the scientific method can really reveal the truth. It seems that science can reflect an infinite number of views. But he has a problem with the rationalism within science.

Kosmische Visie - Wetenschap en het Akasha-veld

By Ervin Laszlo (2004) ISBN:9020283596, Publisher:Ankh-Hermes

Current science has left us with a pretty negative view on live. A new more positive all-encompassing theory is ncessary. Then main reason for a new theory is however unexplained phenomena on various levels. The first level is cosmology. There is a high degree coherence, which only can be explained by an information field. A similar field is already know through quantum physics. Also many biological processes require such a field in order to explain the speed of communication. And finally many consciousness phenomena, like ESP, can only be explained through an information field.

Eye-opener

The book Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot is really an eye-opener for me. I did not realise that there is so much evidence for a holographic universe. He connects the dots of a wide range of phenomena through this holographic universe. And there are even some elements that are missing from his exposé that can be easily added.

I notice that I use this Holographic Universe model as a reference for many things I read now. I guess that I will use this as my standard reference model for the moment and will add things to it as we go along. This book is really a must read.
