Things that do not make sense
New Scientist published a list with 13 things that do not make sense. I get the impression that at least one belongs to the field of consciousness and thus is beyond our standard understanding.
I went through the list for possible candidates:
- The Placebo Effect. I think that this one really belongs to our category. It has to do with self-healing and faith;
- Homeopathy. I was surprised that this one was on their list. It means that they have at least one positive research article. They only talk about one, but that one alone cannot be enough to put it on their list
All the other items belong to physics or space. I am amazed at so many puzzles in that field and none in any other sciences. It seems a strange selection, but interesting nevertheless.
