St. Pierre d’Argençon 2

I am not quite sure what to think of this sundial. Normally I do not publish prefabricated sundials. However this one seems to be old. It shows a date of 1739, but that could mean something else. It is square and is cemented to the wall at an angle, such that is facing south. It has a motto in provençal: lou temps passo, passo lou ben, which means time passes, pass it well.

The dial shows hourlinens from 6 to 6 o’clock and shows the half-hour points.

It can be found in the center of St. Pierre d’Agençon, Hautes-Alpes, France. It is near a fountain in this small village.
