&ot Sundial Sightings

Eyguians

This is a fairly simple sundial, but with a nice drawing. It is of a recent date, the dial says the year 2000. The drawing depicts the flow of water, which is realted to the flow of time. The motto says L’eau plus precieuse de la vie que ce temps qui s’ecoule, ne doit pas non plus etre gaspillee, which roughly translates to Water, most precious of life as the time that passes, must neither be wasted.

The dial face shows hour lines from 5 o’clock to 3 o’clock, with dots at some half-hour lines.

This sundial can be found in Eyguians, Hautes-Alpes, France on the southern facade of the communal building on the central market place.
