Sundials seen in Italy.
This is a nice dial, as it is not oriented to the south, it is bit turned to the west. The design is very simple with just a rectangular slab of stone and some lines. It has a supported gnomon. The gnomon has a small ring at the top, which is unfortunately not used. The location of the dial is overgrown with trees, so I am not sure if it ever sees the sun. When I saw the dial, the building was in restoration, so I hope they will restore the dial as well.
The dial shows the hour lines from 8 to 5 o’clock,
The dial can be found on Villa Rey, on the southerly facade of this building. The Villa Rey is on the slopes south of Torino (across the river Po), Italy.
Seen on 12 july in the evening.

This is a extremely simple dial. They just just one of the anchors of the wall to create a support for a gnomon. The face of the dial is just a wedge. The position of dial is not well chosen. When I took the picture, around noon, the dial was in the shadow of the the gutters. Notice that the gnomon is pointing in the wrong direction, so I assume that they intended the horizontal stick to be used as gnomon.
The dial shows markers for the hours and half-hours from 6 to 6 o’clock. But I do not know at what date this is correct.
The dial can be found in Susa, Italy in the Via Rivoli close to the Piazza San Giusto naturally on the northern part of the street.
Seen on 12 july around noon.

This is a fairly simple dial with a supported gnomon. There are no stylistic features. There are however two zodiac signs visible for cancer and unknown. I do not understand what they are supposed to mean. They can not be related to the declination of the sun.
The dial shows the hour, half hour and quarter hour marks from 7 until 18 o’clock local time. The noon line has been made a bit longer.
The sundial can be found in Italy, in the Province of Piedmont, in the town of Susa. It is on the southern facing facade of the church on Piazza San Giusto.
Seen on 12 july 2005 on 11:58.
