I just finished reading this book by Howard Rheingold. It is a very good book, which gives a good overview of various group phenomena, like SMS, Mobile Networks, Peer-peer, WiFi, Blogs. All these new technologies give more power to the end-user. The book discusses the possible relevant sociological theories which might explain what is happening. In this respect the book stries to bridge the gap between theory and practice. It certainly does describe a new phenomenon, for which the outcome is still uncertain.
