MacHeist evaluation

The newest iteration of MacHeist is in town. I did participate in the previous two version and probably will in this one. But is it my worthwhile?

So a good moment to look back and check which applications I actually started using and why I do not use the others.

• MacHeist 2
• 1passwd - I do not use this one and just rely on the KeyChain;
• CoverSutra - was OK, but I dot really need its functionality;
• Cha-Ching - I am happy with this one and it became my standard for personal finance. Can’t do without any more;
• iStopMotion - I do not do anything with movies, so I do not use this one;
• Awaken - I guess this is to awake your computer?
• Speed Download - I forget about this one, but I am not a big downloader anyway;
• AppZapper - I use this one from time to time;
• TaskPaper - No use;
• CSSEdit - No, this to technical for me, I am happy with Sandvox;
• Snapz Pro X - No, I am a Skitch user;
• Pixelmator - Forgot about this one;
• MacHeist 1
• Delicious Library - alas no. I like the application, but I am not this organised;
• FotoMagico - I think I never got this one working;
• Shapeshifter - I do not like these kind of apps;
• Devonthink Personal - I did try this one, but it did not fit my workstyle;
• Disco - I stopped burning CD’s a long time ago;
• RapidWeaver - No, I use Sandvox;
• Enigmo 2 - I played this one a little;
• NewsFire - no I am NNW user;
• TextMate - I do use this for occasional text editing;

So from MacHeist2, I only use Cha-Ching and AppZapper. That is not much. So I did pay what I would pay for buying this applications directly for the developers.

For the MacHeist 1 bundle, the results are even worse. But I have now a better than when I would buy TextMate directly.
